Weight Management

An increasing number of children are overweight, or even
obese, and if no intervention is made, 80% of them
will remain severely overweight as adults.

This will put them at serious risk for many medical problems, including diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and sleep apnea.

Additionally, severe overweight of obesity can also adversely affect their self-esteem – as children, as teenagers and as adults.

An important way to help your child with weight loss, maintaining a normal weight and develop healthy habits is to encourage her/him to participate in regular physical activity.

This can include ensuring they are participating in a physical education class in school and, preferably, extracurricular sports or other exercise related activity at school or in the community.
